Bottom line they had a good run as a 1st party. In all truth it might not have been Sega's best moment's and sure they screwed up a few times but these things happen and this is one of the reasons there a 3rd party developer now. But for Sega cancelling there Saturn Sonic game yes it was dissappointing to any sega fan that they could not pull off a good "3d" Sonic game on that system and in all truth they should have just gave a 2d game instead, but this did not mean Sonic Team didn't give the Saturn fans a good game, after there Sonic cancelation they brought out a fan favorite Nights. and 3rd yea sure Nintendo was showing off pictures of Mario 64 for what seemed like forever just so they wouldn't lose there SNES audience which was a smart strategy that worked on me and some other fans (im not ashamed to admit it). In a way it's more like what Nintendo did with Zelda Twilight Princess where it was released on the Wii and also given a gamecube release also. This couldn't be said about Microsoft when they ditched the original Xbox like a bad habit when they brought out the Xbox 360. There more like simplifed versions of the Genesis games that was just Sega showing that they weren't giving up on Master System fans that still haven't up graded to the Sega Genesis. 2nd I don't really get your Halo example, so what if Sega ported Sonic games over to the Sega Master system, its not like there created equal, they were scaled down 8 bit versions of 16 bit games.
Sega games from the 90s 32 bit#
It was definitely dumb to have 2 of there 32 bit systems competing with each other at the same time, but Sonic CD did not in anyway hurt the Sega Saturn's sales. The 32X also was suppose to have a Knuckles game called knuckles Chaotix but that was canceled. Your making it sound like the Sega CD and Sonic CD turned out to be competition for there own Sega Saturn when in fact it was the 32X that was released a few months before the Sega Saturn and confused consumers. 1st your time line for the Sega CD and the Sega Saturn are way off.
